About The Position

Are you creative with a passion for community engagement? The Township of Pine is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Communications Intern to join our team and help connect residents with the programs, services, and events that make our community thrive. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public sector communications while working alongside local leaders, community partners, and media outlets. Schedule: Monday - Friday On-Site; As Needed Evening / Weekend Events Hours: Full or Part Time; Flexible Pay: $14.00 per hour What You'll Do As a Communications Intern, you'll collaborate with various Township departments and partner to support a wide range of communication initiatives, including: Assisting in the development and implementation of communication projects and campaigns Creating content for social media, website updates, e-newsletters, brochures, signage, and more Supporting special events and community outreach through photography, videography, and on-site engagement Assisting with media relations and public information efforts Monitoring and organizing digital assets and shared content systems Gathering and evaluating public feedback to provide recommendations Helping maintain positive relationships with local media, businesses, and community organizations What We're Looking For Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Multimedia, or a related field 0-1 year of relevant experience (internships and academic projects welcome!) Creative eye for photography, videography, and digital design Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable engaging with the public Experience with tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Microsoft 365 (Teams & SharePoint), Venus, and Hootsuite Why Join the Township of Pine? Requirements
