About The Position

The Department of Community Partnerships & Campus Visit Experience is seeking a detail-oriented and student-centered intern to support the Outreach team, with a primary focus on the Challenge to ASPIRE Summer Camps. The intern will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Director of Outreach, Assistant Director, and Program Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and execute K-8 outreach initiatives. While the primary responsibility will be supporting the planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of three week-long Challenge to ASPIRE Summer Camps held in June, the intern will also assist with broader K-8 outreach programming during the spring and early summer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field.
  • Or current Graduate Student at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with logistical planning and coordination for Challenge to ASPIRE Summer Camps.
  • Support the execution of three week-long summer camps for elementary and middle school students.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding camp schedules, reminders, and important updates.
  • Help manage daily camp operations including check-in, check-out, attendance tracking, and camper support.
  • Participate on-site during camps to assist with camp management, activities, and student engagement.
  • Prepare materials, supplies, and room setups for camp sessions and activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Director, Assistant Director, and Program Coordinator to ensure successful camp delivery.
  • Monitor operational needs and provide real-time support during camp programming.
  • Assist with post-camp debrief, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Support documentation of outcomes and development of a summer camp summary report.
  • Attend and complete any required trainings, meetings, or professional development as needed.
  • Assist with remaining Classroom of the Month programming (through May 2026).
  • Support planning and execution of the Passport to College event in May.
  • Provide general support for K-8 outreach initiatives within ASPIRE districts and community partnerships.
  • Assist with outreach event logistics, materials preparation, and day-of coordination.
  • Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Outreach team as needed.
