Requirements

  • Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and consistency
  • Interest in data governance, data quality, and improving business processes
  • Basic understanding of database concepts and data structures
  • Experience with Excel/Google Sheets; basic SQL knowledge preferred
  • Comfortable speaking in front of small groups and assisting with training sessions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Junior status or above
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset
  • Interest in improving processes and ensuring accuracy
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively

Responsibilities

  • Support the Business Intelligence & Data team in strengthening data governance and stewardship practices across the organization.
  • Assist in coordinating communication between the central data team and departmental stakeholders to support alignment on data priorities
  • Support data quality reviews by identifying, documenting, and tracking data quality issues
  • Help monitor remediation efforts and follow up with data owners as needed
  • Assist in documenting data definitions, standards, lineage details, and stewardship procedures in a clear and consistent format
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business users to promote consistent data definitions and classifications
  • Help prepare reports and dashboards tracking stewardship metrics such as data quality scores, glossary completion, and catalog adoption
  • Support the rollout of data governance processes, policies, and training materials across departments
  • Assist in hosting and facilitating data governance and stewardship training sessions for departments
  • Contribute to communication initiatives that promote data literacy and awareness of governance best practices
