The ERCOT Internship Program allows college students the opportunity to develop their skills in a technical and high-paced, professional work environment. Interns receive assignments and projects that aim to solve real challenges facing the electric industry. The internship program also allows students to experience working alongside ERCOT employees and being part of a team. Throughout the internship, ERCOT leaders are able to evaluate each individual interns' capabilities and compatibility with ERCOT's mission, vision and values. Obtain experience with corporate financial planning and analysis concepts and how data is used to make business decisions Gain understanding of accounting processes and GL entries such as revenues, expenditures, amortizations, accruals, etc. Exposure to personnel processes such as positions and job requisitions Summary of Responsibilities of the Intern Reviews spend requests for accurate coding Assists in developing, preparing and reporting financial analysis related to budgets, actuals, and forecasts Runs integrations and performs reconciliations of data integrated between ERP and Financial Planning systems Updates the financial planning system with guidance from team members Makes routine business decisions and escalates issues to management when needed Performs all work according to applicable rules and regulations including regulatory requirements and organization policies and procedures Completion of assigned project to be presented at the end of the program Project Deliverable Annual ISO/RTO Benchmarking presentation (probable; unless other project deemed more appropriate) Education (Required) Pursuing a bachelor's degree or post graduate degree program in accounting, finance, or related field GPA of 3.0 or higher At least completed sophomore year
