Join Our Team: The Home Depot Asset Protection team safeguards company assets, people, and reputation through proactive, data-driven strategies. Their mission focuses on reducing losses from theft and fraud, ensuring safety, and maintaining compliance across retail and supply chain operations. The team uses advanced analytics, technology, and strong internal and external partnerships to identify reduce loss and risk to our locations. Job Summary: A forensic accounting intern on this team gains hands-on experience applying investigative and analytical skills to real-world challenges, such as combating illicit online trade in stolen goods. Interns work on strategic projects using web-scraping and OSINT techniques to design protocols for detecting and mitigating criminal resale activity. They contribute by enhancing investigative capabilities, supporting predictive modeling, and piloting innovative solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams provides exposure to the broader business and builds professional networks.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Forensic Accounting, Accounting, or Criminal Justice
  • Proficiency in OSINT techniques
  • Technical expertise in web-scraping and data analysis
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and fraud detection
  • Strong investigative and analytical abilities
  • The successful student will be currently enrolled in a Canadian accredited university or college throughout the period of the Internship/Co-op program.
  • In addition, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid study/work permit.
