About The Position

The intern will work in a program designed to help college students gain experience and develop the technology, professional and interpersonal skills to use throughout their career. First American Interns work in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title Industry—balanced with intern-specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunities—while under the close supervision and guidance of a manager and/or mentor. Undergraduate students are assigned significant work assignments to support a specific business function within Marketing, Human Resources, IT, Accounting and Finance.

The Information Security Governance and Risk team is responsible for issues and risk management, Risk and Controls Self-Assessments (RCSA) and gap assessments. This internship role will assist in these efforts and will require the ability to learn and understand Information Security Policies and Standards, industry best practices, as well as Information Technology and Security concepts and systems at least at a surface level.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Visio)
• Working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change regularly, requiring the ability to adapt and shift quickly
• Ability to self-start and be versatile in a dynamic environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Listens to others and accepts input from team members
• An interest and willingness to learn
• Interest in and basic awareness of Information Security and Cyber security
• The ability to solve problems, be detailed oriented and be conscientious about all work completed
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must

Responsibilities

• assisting the team with assessing and documenting issues, risks and Information Security controls by scheduling meetings
• taking and distributing meeting notes
• following up with assigned remediation owners
• analysis of trends and maintenance of the Governance Risk and Compliance tracking system
