About The Position

The EquiTrust Internship Program provides students with a paid summer opportunity to gain real-world experience while contributing to meaningful projects that support the organization’s goals. Interns will apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting, working closely with experienced professionals and participating in day-to-day operations. Throughout the program, they will collaborate across departments, enhancing their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while developing industry-specific expertise. A key component of the internship is the capstone project, which allows interns to showcase their work and insights gained from their experience. Their contributions will help streamline processes, improve efficiency, and drive meaningful results aligned with EquiTrust’s mission and values. This program offers a valuable chance to build a professional network and gain practical skills that will support future career success. As an Information Technology (QA Automation) Intern , you’ll gain hands-on experience in software quality assurance while contributing to real projects that support EquiTrust’s technology initiatives. You’ll work closely with QA and Development teams to help design, build, and execute automated testing solutions that enhance application quality and user experience. This internship is designed to support learning, growth, and collaboration. Throughout the program, you’ll build technical and professional skills, participate in day-to-day team activities, and complete a capstone project that highlights what you’ve learned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled as a rising Junior or Senior in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university, pursuing a degree relevant to the internship focus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Initiative and a willingness to learn in a professional environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across different teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to adapt to new challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior coursework or projects in software development, automation testing, or related areas preferred.
  • Any familiarity with the following technologies is preferred:
  • Programming Languages: Python, C#, JavaScript, Groovy
  • Scripting & Command Line: PowerShell, Command Line
  • API Development & Testing: API Development and Testing
  • Automation tools and frameworks, Postman
  • Debugging Tools: Visual Studio, Eclipse
  • Build & Deployment Tools: Bamboo, Visual Cron

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, developing, and executing automated test solutions for a variety of applications
  • Write and maintain test cases, scripts, and frameworks that simulate real end-user behavior
  • Collaborate with QA and Development teams to integrate test automation into delivery practices
  • Configure and run automated test suites and help analyze results
  • Troubleshoot issues and support problem-solving efforts
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment
  • Take on additional learning opportunities and responsibilities as part of your professional development
