POSITION SUMMARY:    The IT Service Desk and Security Intern will support day‑to‑day IT service desk and security operations, assist with projects and documentation, and complete a capstone project addressing a real business need. This role provides hands‑on experience in an enterprise IT environment and opportunities to learn, contribute, and develop technical and professional skills.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge in using and supporting Microsoft Office 365.
  • Proven communication and organizational strengths developed through hands-on experience in security operations.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to ongoing learning.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Interest in technology and IT support
  • Knowledge of hardware, OS, and applications
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and in teams
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for learning and takes initiative
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and via electronic devices.
  • Ability to move within the office environment, including walking short distances and navigating stairs if applicable.
  • Visual acuity to read and interpret data on screens and printed materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows and 365 (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for IT service desk requests and security incidents.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
  • Assist with user account setup and closure, and equipment preparation during onboarding & offboarding.
  • Aid in the documentation of procedures, solutions, and recurring issues.
  • Support device setup, imaging, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Support critical business applications.
  • Participate in IT projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to resolve technical challenges in a timely manner.
  • Manage an assigned capstone project from initial research through planning, execution, and final presentation.
  • Conduct research, collect data, and prepare reports as necessary.
  • Actively participate in meetings and propose ideas for process improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Regular, predictable, in-person attendance on the business days the Company requires in-person attendance at this facility. (In-person attendance is optional on the other workdays.)  For non-required-in-person attendance days, employees are expected to be present and engaged during the designated work hours for this role.
  • Perform other duties assigned that support the overall success of the team, department, or organization. This may include participating in cross-functional initiatives, contributing to process improvements, or assisting with special projects as needed.
