The Completions and Stimulation Department is a research and development focused group of engineers and scientists specializing in the development of advanced technologies for the oil and gas industry. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern during the summer for a 10–12 weeks internship program. The selected candidate will be an engineering student with diverse technical interests and demonstrated engineering skills in an academic setting. The intern will develop the ability to solve challenging technical problems related to mechanical design and downhole completion tools. The engineering student will gain valuable experience working on completion tool design, along with hands-on testing and validation activities. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to learn about all phases of the product life cycle, including: Concept development Detailed design Manufacturing Integration Testing and validation Post-delivery technical support Additional learning opportunities related to digital signal processing (DSP) design, printed circuit board (PCB) design, and evaluation of new technologies will also be provided during this internship. Internship Learning Areas The intern will gain experience in the following areas: Develop analytical thinking and advanced problem-solving abilities Gain hands-on experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as Abaqus or ANSYS Perform laboratory work using instrumentation and test equipment Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation and reporting
