Purpose and Responsibilities of Position: The department of Process Development (PD) has an 8–12-week project suited for a summer intern to aid in the formulation development of Grifols’s protein products. The intern will be trained in formulating proteins in multiple buffers and executing experiments to characterize and evaluate their stability using viscosity, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements. The incumbent will learn how to interpret complex data and generate presentations in preparation for a presentation to management that summarizes the work at the conclusion of their internship.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or related fields as a rising junior or senior; can also be a current Master’s or PhD student.
  • Candidate must currently have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to perform literature searches, read laboratory procedures, and document work in a laboratory notebook.
  • Proficiency in laboratory skills, including pipetting, use of balance, volumetric glassware, making solutions, and laboratory safety awareness.
