For more information, please visit our website: http://www.grifols.com  Purpose & Responsibilities of Position: The Production Planning Intern will have the opportunity to gain handson experience within Grifols’ manufacturing operations by supporting the creation, coordination, and optimization of production schedules. This role provides exposure to real manufacturing constraints, capacity planning, material flow, and crossfunctional communication essential for meeting production targets. The intern will work closely with production schedulers, planners, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment between demand, capacity, and inventory requirements.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related scientific field (Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain preferred), as a rising junior or senior; OR currently accepted or enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Familiarity and comfort with Excel (including working with Macros and pivot tables), Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Interest in process improvement, operational efficiency, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building, updating, and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on manufacturing capacity, material availability, and demand priorities.
  • Analyze production data, historical performance, and capacity constraints to support schedule accuracy and feasibility.
  • Help identify risks impacting the production schedule (e.g., material shortages, equipment downtime, labor constraints) and propose potential mitigation options.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, supply planning, and quality teams to ensure schedule adherence and timely communication of changes.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline scheduling workflows, planning tools, and communication processes.
  • Document scheduling procedures, update standard operating procedures (SOPs), and support schedule reporting for leadership.
  • Assist with performance tracking (e.g., schedule adherence, throughput, cycle time), providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
