About The Position

The primary function of the Engineering Intern in the R&D Innovation
organization is to support test method development, characterization of
prototypes, and finalization of design elements for various development
projects. This includes hands-on test development and validation, statistical
analysis of data and communication of results and recommendations in report
and/or presentation formats following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in student-led engineering projects.
• Solid understanding of physics, chemistry, material science, and statistics
• Familiar with data analysis software tools (i.e. Excel, MiniTab)
• Familiar with 3D modeling software
• Accurate recording of test results and observations, good communication and written skills
• Junior/Senior standing pursuing BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with R&D Engineers to support new product innovation activities.
• Support test method development, fixture design, and test method validation
• Perform lab activities, testing and experiments as directed by engineering staff
• Apply analytical and/or statistical methodologies to support design decisions
• Perform investigations and troubleshooting activities as required
