The Hockenbery Lab is in the Clinical Research Division that explores how cell metabolism — the step-by-step processes cells use to break down nutrients — is used to control programmed cell death in both normal and cancer cells. A highly motivated, bright individual with a career path in biological sciences and/or medicine is sought for a part-time position with variable hours.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a college level program seeking a degree in Biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry.
  • Available for flexible hours as needed
  • Previous Internship in a laboratory

Nice To Haves

  • Background in Machine Learning
  • Bioinformatics
  • R software environment beneficial

Responsibilities

  • The intern will meet with lab members and participate in lab meetings.
  • The intern will analyze cell proliferation using data generated by manual counts and the Incucyte software in Shared Resources, prepare figures and data summaries.
