Program Duration Our internship program runs approximately 40 hours per week, from June 1st through mid-August. The Impact You Will Have Blue Cross and Blue Shield of MN is looking for an Intern with Data Analytics experience to join our Sales Technology team! The Intern - Sales Technology Data Analytics will support the team responsible for managing and enhancing the organization’s sales technology ecosystem. This role will contribute to the analysis and optimization of multiple sales platforms and portals. The intern will use their data analytics skills to evaluate system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and translate data into actionable insights that help drive sales technology strategy. Working closely with team members, the intern will assist with reporting, platform assessments, and ongoing technology initiatives that support sales operations and user experience.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an educational program for the duration of the internship.
  • Completed at least one year (2 semesters or credits equivalent) by the start of the internship.
  • Undergraduate degree in Data Science or Data Analytics.
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and a customer service orientation
  • Willingness to take initiative and learn new concepts and technical skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, including being on-site at least 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data cleanup across three disconnected systems, ensuring accuracy and alignment of shared data fields.
  • Organize and analyze data using strong Excel skills, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and complex spreadsheet management.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to gain broader exposure across Sales and Sales Technology functions.
  • Follow a structured project plan outlining data sources, cleanup workflows, and validation steps.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze datasets, verify data accuracy, and identify discrepancies.
  • Update records directly in designated databases when appropriate or route required changes to authorized teams based on security privileges.
  • Partner with fellow interns to coordinate tasks and collectively complete data cleanup deliverables.
  • Gain exposure to various data types, systems, and tools used within the Sales Technology ecosystem.
  • Observe how the Sales Technology team collaborates with cross‑functional partners across the organization.
  • Support additional project work and ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.
