What We Do First American’s Internship Program is a full-time, 10-12 week paid internship from June - August 2026. The Intern will work in a program designed to help college students gain experience in supporting the information technology ecosystem, professional and interpersonal skills that will be invaluable throughout their career. As a First American Intern you will gain exposure to working in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title Industry—balanced with intern-specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunities—while under the close supervision and guidance of a manager and/or mentor. Undergraduate students are assigned significant work assignments to support a specific business function within Marketing, Human Resources, IT, Accounting and Finance. WHAT YOU'LL DO This is an internship which will be a project-based role to gain varied experience in Information Security Risk Management and Governance. The intern will work directly with the Information Security Risk Manager to support and further mature the organization’s risk management program.

Requirements

  • We are seeking College/University students enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program with 0-2 years' of related experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications and SharePoint
  • An understanding of risk management principles, and information security/information technology governance frameworks and/or Controls
  • The ability to solve problems, be detailed-oriented and be conscientious about all work completed
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
  • Ability to research, analyze/synthesize information, and clearly document processes and findings
  • Capability to support the development and delivery of security training and awareness initiatives, including tracking engagement and effectiveness metrics
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • The potential to excel in the following competencies: Critical Thinking, Communication (Writing, Presentation, and Verbal), Customer Focus, Ethics & Integrity, Teamwork & Adaptability, Productivity & Initiative, and Research and Analytics

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Field of Study in.... Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Information Systems, or Business Administration.
