Intern, Systems Engineering
About The Position
The Integrated Systems and Solutions (InSYS) division designs and develops leading-edge R&D technology that supports demanding market needs. SRI maintains a state-of-the-art products portfolio that includes real-time video processors, integrated video and sensor exploitation solutions, and instrumented training systems for government and commercial sectors. InSyS's work in intelligence systems ranges from project planning and engineering to installation and field support. As we lead the transition of next-generation hardware and real-time software platforms, each robust system we develop must deliver on government-force protection. The Intern will work as a member of a team of engineers supporting the development of our Intelligent Systems and the integration of our systems into airborne, naval, and ground systems. The Intern will work a hybrid schedule up to 3 days a week on-site in our Princeton, NJ office depending on project need.
Requirements
- Current Bachelors student majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Candidates must be a US Citizen
- Experience with one or more Electrical / Software / Systems Engineering functions including: Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
- May use system modeling or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
- Regular reporting of progress and status
- Completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
- Review customer specifications and under direction develop system architecture to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
- Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
- Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
- May participate in preparation of less complex proposals
