About The Position

As an intern in AMAIS team at Micron, you will build on your academic skills and employ Engineering, Physics, and AI-based modeling towards semiconductor specific applications. You will interact with experienced AMAIS modeling experts working on advanced modeling of process, structures, materials, and thermomechanical phenomena towards improvement of existing tools. In this position, you will help modify and test workflows, algorithms and/or solutions. There will be significant opportunities to perform exploratory and new AMAIS solution development activities.

Requirements

  • Education should include either a B.S. in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Data Science, and M.S., or a Ph.D. with specialization in HPC and/or AI.
  • Experience in the areas: Engineering/Sciences modeling and AI techniques
  • Experience with Finite elements, level sets, and CAD
  • Familiar with meshing techniques and numerical solvers
  • Experience with Bash, Python, C++
  • Strong skills in: modeling, software development, debugging, and problem-solving, and writing reports and/or user guides/manuals
  • Machine learning, deep learning, Gen-AI, and Agentic AI techniques
  • Graduation date should not be prior to September 2026.
  • We are looking for a Summer, Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 intern.

  • Strong desire to grow a career as a Physics + AI modeling applications expert in semiconductor industry.
  • Exposure to the semiconductor industry
  • Ability to work with sparse data sets and ill-defined problems.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor processes or integration is encouraged
  • Experience working with process models, time-series data, images, and Manufacturing data

Responsibilities

  • Working on a modeling project that involves testing of new methods to perform large scale structural and/or mechanics simulations.
  • Reporting results to the team of modeling engineers and collaborate with them on the next steps.
  • Implement and test new algorithms.
