Internal Communication Specialist - Charlotte, NC Ready to change the future, your way? As a full-time Internal Communication Specialist in the People and Culture Department at Aalberts, you will own and execute our internal messaging channels and experiences. This role will work closely with People & Culture, Marketing and senior leadership to keep our workforce informed, engaged, and inspired – while ensuring consistency with our brand voice and values. The Internal Communication Specialist is responsible for creating, coordinating, and executing all internal messaging and employee-facing content across channels such as our intranet, newsletters, internal campaigns, Viva Engage, and companywide announcements. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and creative thinker who brings professionalism, empathy, and strategic alignment to every communication while fostering a positive workplace culture. This role will collaborate closely with People and Culture and leadership to support internal initiatives and events and the Marketing team to uphold brand standards. the Aalberts way Aalberts is built on entrepreneurship. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related field.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills with a clear, concise, and professional tone.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (especially Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with Viva Engage and intranet CMS systems.
  • Ability to create basic design materials using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop) or Canva.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines while juggling multiple priorities.
  • Highly collaborative, organized, and detail-oriented with a proactive approach.
  • Understanding brand consistency and alignment with corporate tone and visual identity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and post content for the company intranet, Viva Engage, internal newsletters, digital signage, and other employee communication platforms.
  • Support internal events and campaigns including town halls, holiday initiatives, appreciation weeks, and training events.
  • Draft clear and engaging internal messages, announcements, and updates on behalf of executives, HR, or project teams that align with Company values and the Company culture.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of communications
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure alignment with company branding and tone of voice in all internal materials.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, leadership, and operations to gather content, clarify messaging needs, and manage communication timelines.
  • Track engagement metrics and continuously improve communication efforts based on data and feedback
  • Create visually compelling internal materials such as posters, slides, or handouts using tools like Adobe InDesign or Canva.
  • Maintain an organized calendar of internal communication activities and deliverables.
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned by the manager.
