About The Position

Leidos is seeking an International Travel Coordinator that will be responsible for international/domestic transportation scheduling, and other travel requirements for participants of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP) such as National Science Foundation (NSF) Grantees, subcontractors, and Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) personnel deploying to Antarctica. Due to contract requirements, US Citizenship is required. Must obtain a Public Trust security clearance prior to start date. This process could take up to 4 months. This role is covered by the Service Contract Act. The pay range for this position will be $24.00 per hour to $28.00 per hour. About the Antarctic Support Contract: Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements: Vision: Expanding our scientific reach in Antarctica through increased operational and logistical effectiveness. Mission: To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent. Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and experience working with MS office products.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

  • Prior experience with organizing corporate travel.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling Participants related to training, conferences, off-site meetings, and temporary duty assignments.
  • Interfaces with personnel from the National Science Foundation, Grantees, ASC employees, subcontractors, and other USAP Participants by telephone, e-mail, and in person, in a professional and tactful manner. Properly documents all communication.
  • Ensures compliance with all travel policies and procedures and follows appropriate action for any deviations.
  • Responsible for coordinating deployment, international, and domestic travel for all ASC-sponsored business, including Antarctic deployment, business-related training, conferences, off-site meetings, and transportation to research vessels.
  • Reviews and processes authorized international and domestic Travel Request Worksheets (TRW) according to policy and standard operating procedures (SOPs) using the most cost-effective travel arrangements.
  • Updates and maintains deployment records for all USAP participants deploying with the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC).
  • Manages requests for deployment, departure and arrival information, and hotels.
  • Supplies information to travel offices in Santiago and Punta Arenas, Chile, and Christchurch, New Zealand manner.
  • Tracks and communicates delivery of tickets, travel information, and itinerary changes and acts immediately to resolve discrepancies.
  • Takes measures to safeguard Private Identification Information (PII) such as Social Security numbers, date and place of birth, demographic data, home addresses, telephone numbers, personal email addresses, passport numbers, and travel information.
  • Performs other duties as required.
