About The Position

Fall 2026 Program Dates: Approximately September 2026 – December 2026 JOB SUMMARY : Support the art and design studio with related activities for marquee projects, corporate events, and theme park entertainment venues. Develop a solid understanding of themed entertainment design and production from concept to completion. Gain an understanding of the diverse roles within Art & Design and how they interact and work together to achieve a successful outcome/product. Based off career interest, interns may assist with teams that include but are not limited to set and scenic design, graphic design, set dressing, costume and prop fabrication, prosthetics/makeup fabrication, and show direction.

Requirements

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
  • A transcript is required upon application.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2026.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred majors include: Theatre, film, fine arts, or related.
  • Preferred experience in live theater or film and television production.
  • Preferred SketchUp experience.
  • Preferred working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with set scenic design, graphic design, set dressing, and prop fabrication production logistics.
  • Participates in character development through costume/character design, prosthetics, and makeup design.
  • Assists with creative development through writing, story/theme development, and show direction.
  • Assists designers and art supervisors as needed.
  • Attends production logistics meetings, research, and create reference materials.
  • Participates in project field work, décor installs/strikes, and décor projects.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
