About The Position

The Obsolescence Engineering Intern helps ensure continued reliability of attraction systems by researching and selecting modern replacements for obsolete mechanical and electrical components, including motors, gearboxes, circuit breakers, drives, UPS systems, and batteries. The intern will prepare and update technical documentation such as TDs/MBs, ECNs, and engineering drawings to support engineering decisions. Additional responsibilities include evaluating new technologies for potential implementation, assisting with system testing during 2nd or 3rd shift when required, and developing foundational skills in project management, reporting, and professional presentations.

Requirements

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
  • A transcript is required upon application.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred majors include: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or related.
  • Preferred coursework completed: mechanical engineering and/or controls engineering related.
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Comfortable with 3D printing
  • Self starter

Responsibilities

  • Create reports with SmartSheet and excel.
  • Write and perform ATP for new parts.
  • Write TDs/MBs, ECNs, including drawing updates.
  • Help/lead design reviews.
  • Work 2nd or 3rd shift when testing a replacement
