The Software Testing Intern is responsible for supporting the software engineering team by developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts, as well as contributing code to enhance test frameworks and validating software functionality. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering and is part of the R&D Software team located in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Learn and apply software testing methodologies, including automated testing techniques and test‑driven development practices Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers to understand system behavior and translate requirements into effective test strategies Design, implement, and execute test cases, including automated test scripts, to validate functionality, performance, and reliability Work with modern tools for issue tracking, test management, and automated test execution Contribute to continuous improvement by analyzing test results, identifying opportunities to enhance automation coverage, and sharing insights with the team

Requirements

  • Undergraduate student entering final year of a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related bachelor’s program
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and core software testing principles
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language commonly used in automated testing (e.g., Python, JavaScript)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to document test results and technical findings clearly
  • Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment
