About The Position

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a 1.0 FTE Interventional Radiologist to join our thriving practice. The Interventional Radiology (IR) division at Mayo Clinic Arizona is a destination medical center that offers high level care with a strong presence in interventional oncology and transplantation. There are approximately 7,800 minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures provided per year by 8 board certified interventional radiologists in a modern facility with 5 interventional suites, 2 dedicated CT procedural room, and an interventional MR suite to be completed within the next year. The interventional practice is currently supported by 6 advanced practice providers (PAs/NP) as well as 3 IR/DR residents (at various stages of their training) per year, with plans to add more within the next year. A well-established outpatient clinic exclusively dedicated to the IR division supports a thriving consultation practice with over 2,000 outpatient visits in 2025. This practice has seen continued growth in interventional oncology, offering the full spectrum of trans arterial and ablative therapies. The division has also seen growth in chronic venous disease management and is building an MR procedural and robotics practice. The candidate must have excellent clinical skills in all facets of interventional radiology including vascular and non-vascular interventions, including interventional oncology and portal hypertension, with a good understanding of liver and renal transplant interventions. Must work collaboratively with hepatology, urology, oncology, critical care, vascular and transplant surgery participating in numerous multidisciplinary conferences. Additionally, the Interventional Radiology division provides vascular imaging services that include CT and MR angiography. Mayo Clinic’s mission of patient care, education and research fully supports the integrated IR residency, independent IR residency and early sub specialization in IR (ESIR). Candidates for this position are expected to participate in the educational and research activities of the interventional and diagnostic residency programs. The Department of Radiology consists of 75 radiologists, five physicists, 24 residents, and six fellows, with planned expansion to 32 residents and seven fellows. This growth aligns with the “Bold. Requirements

  • Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology for the Interventional Radiology IR/DR certificate
  • Excellent clinical skills in all facets of interventional radiology including vascular and non-vascular interventions, including interventional oncology and portal hypertension, with a good understanding of liver and renal transplant interventions
