About The Position

Interventional Radiologist Job Quick Facts: • Specialty: Interventional Radiology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Facility Location: Grass Valley, CA • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Reason For Coverage: Supplemental • Coverage Period: Feb 23, 2026 - Ongoing • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Shifts needed to be filled: - Feb 23 & 24 - Ongoing • Shift Schedule: 8a-430p • Call Schedule: Nights & weekends • Patient Volume: 85-90 (ED); 50 (IP/Obs/ICU) No. of Procedures per day: 50 studies; 4-6 procedures - CTs: 12-15 - X-rays: 15-20 - US: 8-12 - IR: 4-6 • Admissions: 12-15 • Support Staff: - Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) Nurses & Techs; Large Radiology group in Sacramento that performs overflow & after-hrs reads. • Case Mix: Surgical, Medical, ICU & OB • Duties: IR along with Stroke CTs and other procedures; Potential to cover bldg 4 (OP bldg) for contrasted CTs & MRIs along w/ Breast biopsies. • Required Procedures/Skills: - Dealbreakers: Procedural Skills, Acute Care Imaging capability (Stroke CTs, ED & ICU imaging studies) - Predominantly non-complex IR; Vast majority of exams are percutaneous (biopsies, drains, aspirations, etc), some infrequent tunneled (i.e. pleurex catheter placement, CV Access) - Lumbar punctures, barium studies, various centesis exams w/ drains & CT/US biopsies preferred. - IR (Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy Tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest Tubes, Suprapubic Catheters); Biopsies (Thyroid, Lung, Others) • EMR: Cerner • Other Info: General Acute Care Hospital (Stroke Certified, not Chest Pain Center accredited, not a Trauma Level designation • Travel, lodging and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements

  • Active CA License
  • BC/BE
  • Fellowship
  • DEA
  • BLS
  • CA Fluoroscopy
  • Must have the required skills
  • Self-Query NPDB report (extracted in the last 30 days)
  • Procedural Skills
  • Acute Care Imaging capability (Stroke CTs, ED & ICU imaging studies)
  • Predominantly non-complex IR
  • Vast majority of exams are percutaneous (biopsies, drains, aspirations, etc), some infrequent tunneled (i.e. pleurex catheter placement, CV Access)
