Assists physicians with interventional procedures and provides technical knowledge to produce diagnostic imaging. Assists in observing patients during procedure and reports abnormal activity. The Interventional Radiology Technologist works closely with the interventional radiologist to perform vascular imaging and interventional radiology procedures. Responsibilities include scrubbing-in for the surgical portion of the procedure, circulating within the procedure room to organize and perform the non-sterile portions of the procedure, and operating the radiographic, fluoroscopic and Cat scan equipment to produce the images for the procedure. The Interventional Radiology Technologist also maintains skills in radiography and/or other imaging specialties to provide cross-coverage and supplemental staffing as required
