About The Position

The Interventional Radiology Technologist reports to the Interventional Radiology Supervisor. Under general supervision, the Interventional Radiology Technologist competently performs technical duties utilizing various types of equipment to image selected vascular structures or therapeutic intervention to assist in diagnosis or treatment. This role provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The technologist applies principles of positioning, radiographic sciences, and ensures radiation protection is exercised with specialized techniques. This position assists and supports the physicians with invasive procedures.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one-year radiologic work experience. Copy of academic degree or transcript required.
Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
0-2 years of modality specific experience required.
Current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
ARRT registration in interventional radiology required within 1 year in position.
Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent).
