The pay rate for an entry-level Interventional Radiology Technologist at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is: $40.95/hr. 4-10 schedule, no call. Job Summary The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs interventional radiology and nephrology procedures for patients in conjunction with the radiologist/nephrologist.

Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an approved program in Radiologic Sciences
  • Massachusetts Department of Public Health licensure for radiology technologist, required.
  • ARRT registry, required within 90 days of hire.
  • BCLS, required.
  • Minimal 1-2 years of experience as Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • Adheres to all I CARE Standards
  • Effectively and efficiently produce high quality interventional imaging studies
  • Must be able to multi-task, adapt to a changing pace, and manage competing priorities.
  • Must possess strong technical, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and service skills with patients, all departmental and hospital staff, and vendors
  • Ability to explain technical and medical terms in an understandable way to patients.
  • Ability to provide guidance, instruction, and feedback in a professional manner to develop students and staff in training.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to participate in all interventional radiology procedures and nephrology procedures.
  • Perform advanced imaging procedures including fluoroscopy, angiography, and other specialized modalities as required.
  • Operate imaging equipment, ensuring proper technique, positioning, and quality of images for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and infection control practices
  • Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment, including performing routine checks and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
