About the position

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization. This full-time position requires rotating call assignments and prioritizes patient care. The role involves preparing and positioning patients, performing technical radiographic procedures, assisting in the administration of contrast media, obtaining high-quality radiographic images, and maintaining effective communication with patients and radiologists.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate accountability and responsibility and performs procedures and care in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner
  • Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures
  • Perform technical radiographic procedures in accordance with established operating procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner
  • Assist in administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Obtain high-quality radiographic images
  • Obtain and document all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history, pregnancy, allergies and obtains informed consent
  • Maintain effective communication with patient, e.g., provide explanation of procedures within scope of practice
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with radiologists
  • Required participation in rotating call

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Associates Degree from a 2-year accredited institution or Radiologic Technology School
  • Current/Active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current ARRT credential; RCIS credential also considered in conjunction with minimum Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years licensed experience in Radiology to include at least one (1) year of IR experience
  • BLS required upon hire; ACLS required within 6 months of hire

Nice-to-haves

  • Angio, Peripheral and Neuro experience a plus
