About The Position

The Inventory Control Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate inventory management at MSI Defense Solutions. They are responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels, conducting cycle counts, and implementing procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize discrepancies. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in inventory management software. The Inventory Control Clerk will report to the Logistics Manager. This position requires a full-time work week spent in the shop in Mooresville, NC. Normal hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm and Friday 7:00am-12:00pm. Flexibility to work additional hours as required to meet project deadlines is expected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required, associate or bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Familiarity with automotive and mechanical parts.
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks unassisted, or with little assistance with accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively operate a computer and understand the Shop Floor Manager software and adhere to the discipline of the systems used per the instruction from management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of inventory control experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate problems and issues to the appropriate level of management to resolve issues
  • Strong organizational skills: attention to detail is a must
  • Accuracy in work assignments and a strong work ethic as a part of a team.
  • Must be able to verify U.S. Person Status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities

  • Receiving incoming inventory.
  • Pulling components for new orders from Sales Order Picking Lists accurately and on time.
  • Delivery of parts onto the Production Floor.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track stock movement, inventory levels, and discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Logistics Manager.
  • Cross training with shipping and receiving for purposes of coverage in the event of absence or attrition.
