About The Position

The Inventory Control & Quality Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of inventory accuracy, quality assurance, compliance, and process control within a high-volume e-commerce fulfillment environment. This role provides direction and oversight in inventory integrity, root cause analysis, audit processes, customer quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a detail-oriented, data-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and understands the critical connection between inventory accuracy, quality performance, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, a systems mindset, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team focused on precision, accountability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in inventory control, quality assurance, or warehouse operations within a high-volume 3PL, distribution, or fulfillment environment.
  • Strong experience in high-volume e-commerce or omnichannel fulfillment operations.
  • Proven track record of driving inventory accuracy, shrink reduction, and quality performance improvements.
  • Experience leading cycle count programs, physical inventories, audit processes, and root cause investigations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, quality defects, and compliance.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Operations and Customer teams to resolve discrepancies and improve service levels.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance standards, process controls, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, reporting, data analysis).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to maintain a visible, floor-focused leadership presence.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in startup or rapidly scaling fulfillment environments.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Quality Management (Green Belt or higher preferred).
  • Experience with automated or technology-enabled fulfillment operations.
  • Experience working within a multi-client 3PL environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all inventory control and quality assurance functions to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with customer and company standards.
  • Develop and execute cycle count programs, physical inventory processes, and audit controls to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to drive quality performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements and accuracy targets.
  • Oversee quality inspections, inbound and outbound compliance checks, and damage control processes.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, shrink, quality defects, and process compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data, Lean principles, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
  • Develop and mentor inventory and quality team members to build a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Safety, HR, and Customer teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance reports to site and senior leadership.
  • Maintain a visible, floor-focused leadership presence to support audits, investigations, and real-time issue resolution.
