About The Position

If you are an Inventory Control professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Houston TX (Aldine Westfield location), the Inventory Control Supervisor will oversee the daily functions of Inventory Control, Stockroom, Shipping & Receiving, Production Dispatch and the Materials Expeditor responsibilities. This position is demanding and requires constant interaction with all departments and suppliers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years experience in materials management’s environment (i.e. purchasing, production control, inventory control & warehousing)
• Must understand basic MRP (Materials Requirements Planning)
• Able to lift parts weighing in excess of 50 pounds (assistance when needed) and to work in bending, squatting and standing positions (includes working off ladders) for long periods of time (in excess of one hour)
• Work overtime as required
• Effective communication skills: verbal and written (English)
• Follow written and/or oral instructions in English
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate freight schedules – Package, LTL and TL
• Oversee stockroom, shipping and receiving daily activities
• Coordinate overtime requirements for stockroom & shipping to maintain business objectives
• Maintain shipping records per records retention policy
• Follow up on orders allocated but not picked with planners/customer service
• Create commercial invoices for international shipments as needed
• Facilitate physical inventory preparation activities as assigned
• Provide export packing list data to customer service
• Answer packing list requests for customer service and/or credit department
• Investigate current packing procedures for improved methods
• Create packing instructions for training new employees and for reference
• Assist with creating, updating and maintaining written work instructions
• Develop and implement a reliable cycle count program, including corrective actions when variances are identified.
• Plan the storage space requirements.
• Monitor inventory transactions for accuracy
