The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing inventories in designated storerooms, ensuring accuracy, financial stewardship, and adequate supply availability. This includes maintaining system integrity, analyzing trends, performing cycle counts, replenishing stock, and supporting Inventory Technicians. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within established inventory policies. CORE COMPETENCIES 1. Inventory Management & Accuracy Maintains accurate inventory levels and meets storeroom financial targets. Performs in‑depth analysis of inventory trends and discrepancies. Conducts cycle counts, adjusts records, and manages obsolete inventory. Establishes and maintains min/max levels for adequate supply. 2. Technical & Systems Proficiency Processes transactions including issues, returns, transfers, adjustments, and patient charges. Maintains inventory tables, par levels, and department files. Uses Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Picis, and Mediclick. Downloads ordering devices and creates/updates stock records. 3. Customer Service & Communication Provides excellent service and responsive communication to system users, clinical partners, vendors, and Supply Chain teams. Prepares reports and supports users in navigating system procedures and capabilities. Maintains a professional and organized work environment. 4. Collaboration & Team Support Partners with Inventory Technicians, Receivers, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and clinical staff to resolve issues. Trains new and current inventory staff as needed. 5. Compliance, Confidentiality & Safety Adheres to UVMHN confidentiality policies, code of conduct, and training requirements. Promotes a safe working environment and complies with OSHA Category III guidelines.
