Job Summary: Location: Methodist Hospital Address: 8303 Dodge St. - Omaha, NE Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 6:00am to 2:30pm, weekends as needed Responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the facility regarding their respective inventory site. Responsible for generating various financial and inventory reports for Supply Chain Management, while maintaining supply channels within the facility to fulfill adequate supply availability for the units managed by the Supply Chain team; including managing order exceptions, backorders and requisition sourcing for the inventory site and related departments. In addition to the responsibilities consistent with the Inventory Coordinator I role, this role is also responsible for inventory comprised of over 2,500 active SKUs with a valuation of over $1.5 million.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years previous inventory or purchasing experience required, preferably in a healthcare/supply chain/logistics environment.
  • 1-2 Years’ experience inputting and retrieving data from a computer MMIS system.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively read and interpret various written reports and documents.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers.
  • Self-starter with excellent team and interpersonal skills.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize successfully.
  • Knowledge of current ERP system, specifically SCM reporting and operational transactions/business processes for all locations
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • MFH: Knowledge of medical/surgical purchasing.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor inventory levels across multiple storage locations, ensuring accuracy for over 2,500 SKUs in active circulation.
  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory valued at over $1.5 million, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company standards.
  • Assists with or prepares and maintains work schedules for assigned staff to ensure duties are covered daily. Adjusts to staffing shortages appropriately to maintain adequate coverage, either by shifting duties or providing assistance as needed to fulfill daily job duties.
  • Produces monthly inventory management reports by tracking and reporting supply item usage data and running all designated month end reports.
  • Tracks and investigates inventory variances and communicates with appropriate departments.
  • Performs inventory cycle counts of their respective inventory site on a quarterly basis. Monitors and determines causes of inventory variances and implements corrective strategies. Must count and document 100% of total stock every 90 days. Makes certain all inventory adjustments are accurate and complete by the end of the fiscal reporting period.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of inventory in Central Supply/OR Supply. Uses the current ERP Supply Chain Management system to prepare and place replenishment orders from Shared Service Systems and other suppliers daily. Generates and validates the inventory stock order in the ERP system daily. Identifies and returns any stock that is considered “dead stock” or slow moving for credit.
  • Demonstrates efficiency in programming, maintaining and troubleshooting handheld devices for Inventory control.
  • Maintains good collaborative relationships with customers to support all Customer initiatives. Notifies customers promptly of any inventory item backorders and assists them in obtaining an acceptable substitute. Exhibits courtesy when talking on the telephone or in person with all external and internal customers. Displays responsiveness and a sense of urgency on all requests from all customers.
  • Completes all tasks and duties assigned as requested by the Manager. Provides all necessary written or verbal communication in a timely manner. Updates management on project’s status, system problems and all inventory and/or supply issues.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement projects in the department. Actively involved in the creation and updating of department work instructions. Actively involved in creation and updating of department procedures and policies. Suggests alternatives and offers solutions when problems arise.
