We’re seeking a highly organized and proactive Inventory & Logistics Specialist who is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, coordinating domestic and international shipments, and supporting warehouse and purchasing operations to ensure product availability and efficient supply chain flow. This role blends hands-on inventory control with logistics coordination, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of inventory control experience.
  • 3+ years of logistics or supply chain experience, including international shipping.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/NetSuite preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, carriers, and clients.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Problem-solving ability to address inventory issues and logistics challenges.
  • Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Customer service orientation when addressing shipment inquiries or delivery concerns.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new tools, technologies, and process changes.
  • Critical thinking for evaluating shipping options and improving supply chain efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with construction materials, components, or job‑site inventory workflows.
  • Understanding of construction project timelines and how they impact material demand.
  • Knowledge of lean inventory practices and cycle counting methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating ocean, air, or domestic freight for construction-related products or equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cycle counts and full physical inventories.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data within the ERP system.
  • Update item master data, including descriptions, bin locations, and units of measure.
  • Generate inventory reports, KPIs, and data analysis for management review.
  • Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and product availability.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to forecast demand and adjust inventory strategies.
  • Coordinate inter-branch transfers, vendor returns, and returns to centralized distribution centers.
  • Support warehouse teams in proper inventory handling, storage, and documentation.
  • Assist in training warehouse staff on inventory procedures and system workflows.
  • Track international and domestic shipments (ocean, air, LTL, parcel) from departure to delivery.
  • Provide timely shipment updates and resolve transit issues proactively.
  • Develop and execute load plans to optimize freight utilization and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate and book ocean freight routes in alignment with production and delivery timelines.
  • Oversee customs entry pre-approvals and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
  • Review and process freight, ocean, and drayage invoices for accuracy.
  • Manage documentation for inbound/outbound shipments and direct international receipts.
  • Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and third‑party logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Identify inefficiencies in inventory and logistics workflows and recommend improvements.
  • Support implementation of best practices in inventory control, warehouse operations, and logistics.
  • Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and branch management to align inventory and logistics with business needs.
