About The Position

CompTech is seeking an Inventory Specialist to support our customer, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The Inventory Specialist must be willing to deploy as a team, or individually, and must have the capability to travel to CONUS locations, no less than 30 weeks out of a calendar year to all DLA sites requiring physical inventories. This role will coordinate all travel, including flights, rental cars, hotels, etc. in a reliable and responsible manner that ensures proper accountability of approved travel funds and prepare expense reports and receipt accountability of all travel expenditures in NLT 5 days post-travel. Additionally, the Inventory Specialist will: Submit all compliance visit notifications in advance to the Site Commander via the BRM and/or local Government Desktop Support (ESD) Branch Chiefs (if applicable). Plan and execute site visits in with approved site visit processes, ensuring effective site-level support and coordination. Identify and document all non-compliant hardware, including items not on DISA’s approved hardware list. Provide actionable recommendations for the replacement or disposal of non-compliant hardware. Assist in resolving DRMO-related accountability issues, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Reconcile discrepancies and resolve deficiencies in asset records. Prioritize storage areas, DRMO backlogs, and locations with known compliance issues to ensure accurate asset documentation. Respond to email requests for information (RFI)s within 24 hours. Provide weekly progress reports detailing inventory outcomes, corrections, and unresolved discrepancies. Ensure accountability and proper asset lifecycle procedures are used to align with DoD and DLA organizational standards. Identify and communicate solutions to problematic areas of the asset control process. Verify the accuracy of the data recorded/updated in the IT Asset Management System (ITAMS) – ServiceNow - to maintain auditable digital hardware records. Draft correspondence and prepare ad hoc site inventory reports, as required. Ensure all digital hardware documentation is maintained in accordance with DoD Standards. Attend all meetings to ensure all requirements are addressed. Ensure all site safety standards are maintained.

Requirements

  • Ability to gain Forklift certification if required
  • Reliable transportation
  • Minimum one year of relevant warehouse experience
  • Minimum one year of experience entering asset data and extracting reports from automated inventory tracking systems
  • Minimum one year of experience in performing physical inventories
  • Minimum one year asset lifecycle management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Secret
