About The Position

The Investment Analyst role is central to sourcing, evaluating, and supporting early-stage ventures, both in our Lab and across our broader portfolio.
Your Role:
As an Investment Analyst, you will:
Source and evaluate startups: Identify promising founders, market opportunities, and emerging trends in AI & tech.
Conduct due diligence: Analyze business models, financials, traction, competitive landscape, and team capabilities.
Support investment decisions: Prepare investment memos, presentation decks, and recommendation summaries for the 16VC team.
Portfolio monitoring: Track the performance of our investments, assist founders with growth strategies, and help optimize reporting and KPIs.
Collaborate with the Lab: Work closely with the 16VC Lab / Venture Studio to identify ventures ready for building, testing, and scaling.
Market research: Stay on top of industry trends, emerging technologies, and venture capital best practices.
Travel & on-ground support: Travel to meet founders, attend industry events, and support portfolio companies and Lab ventures as needed.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information.
• Understanding of startup metrics, business models, and early-stage venture dynamics.
• Comfortable with financial modeling, market sizing, and competitive analysis.
• Passion for AI, technology, and the startup ecosystem.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a hands-on, proactive mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to distill insights clearly for internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience at a VC, angel investing, startup, or accelerator program.
• Exposure to venture studio operations or building early-stage startups.
• Knowledge of no-code/low-code tools and early-stage product prototyping to better evaluate Lab ventures.
