About The Position

The IPM Cultivation Technician supports plant health by executing integrated pest management strategies, including regular scouting, treatment application, and detailed reporting. Working under the IPM Supervisor or Manager, this role is essential to early pest and disease detection and prevention through compliant, environmentally responsible practices.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and be able to pass a background check
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Registered Agent Card
  • Must obtain a State Certified Applicator license in Vegetable Crop Pest Control category within 90 days
  • Must be able to work in humid environments with strong plant odors, and fluctuating temperatures
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and to follow sanitation and safety standards
  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and organized
  • Able to follow strict procedures and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of cannabis laws and ability to maintain compliance

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or more commercial cultivation experience with a focus on flowering
  • Strong knowledge of plant biology, flowering cycles, pests, and disease cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively and communicate clearly across teams

Responsibilities

  • Pest and Disease Monitoring - Regularly inspect plants and cultivation areas for pests, diseases, and beneficial insects. Use traps and visual scouting to track pest trends. Promptly report any irregularities, including those related to irrigation, plant health, or equipment.
  • Application of Treatments - Safely Apply biological controls, beneficial insects, and compliant pesticides safely and accurately. Ensure proper signage, follow all re-entry interval protocols, and document all applications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Data Collection and Reporting - Maintain detailed records of pest activity, treatment methods, and environmental conditions. Share observations with cultivation leadership to support data-driven decision-making
  • Equipment Maintenance - Clean, calibrate, and maintain IPM tools, application devices, and environmental sensors. Ensure sanitation protocols are followed to prevent contamination and ensure accuracy.
  • Compliance and Safety - Consistently follow all PPE requirements, chemical safety procedures, company SOPs and state regulatory compliance. Attend mandatory training and maintain certifications as required by law.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Work closely with cultivation, fertigation, and compliance teams to identify and resolve plant health issues. Communicate clearly and timely with supervisors regarding pest pressures, treatment plans, and outcomes.
