About The Position

The IPS Counselor provides Supported Employment services to eligible consumers who express a desire to work and face barriers due to mental health challenges that have impacted their employment stability. This role focuses on delivering individualized employment support, assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment, and collaborating with mental health and employment service providers to ensure coordinated, person-centered care that promotes long-term success.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience in the mental health field
• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized Supported Employment services to consumers with mental health challenges
• Assist clients in identifying and pursuing competitive employment opportunities
• Support clients in overcoming barriers to employment related to mental health
• Collaborate with mental health and employment service providers to coordinate care
• Develop employment plans aligned with client goals and strengths
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress notes, and employment outcomes
• Provide ongoing job coaching and follow-up support to promote job retention
• Engage with community employers to identify job opportunities for clients
• Advocate for clients to ensure equal access to employment opportunities
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support integrated care
