Overview Is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring system applications, particularly Electronic Medical Records. Technical duties include developing and maintaining EMR system templates, stored procedures, and other functions as needed. Other duties include providing technical support and assistance to end users and physicians; gathering information, developing the system to user needs, and working towards the goal of implementing and running a successful EMR and other system applications as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Lead team to evaluate, plan, implement, support and manage the deployment of EMR systems throughout MANA. 2. Coordinate task, time, scope and resources of EMR team for clinical content customization. 3. Educate and train clinicians and staff on EMR applications, working closely with clinic office managers and physicians to ensure solutions meet expectations. 4. Gather existing EMR workflow and perform process re-engineering on functions and implementations. 5. Manage the EMR database system to ensure timely upgrades, security and maintenance, testing and development. 6. Ensures documentation of EMR changes and enhancements as developed by EMR team. 7. Attend meetings, as requested and conduct product demonstrations, clinic walkthroughs, and other support activities. 8. Research new product development and/or releases. 9. Troubleshooting - Provide user support and assist users with EMR Application and problem resolution. 10. Coordinate project timelines and information directly with CIO and IS Director. 11. Monitor and troubleshoot HL7 interfaces. 12. Monitor and troubleshoot Fax Manager, Rosetta, eRX, offline doc generator, ICS, etc. 13. Oversees patient account maintenance (duplicate accounts, erroneous accounts, incorrect charting). 14. Takes initiative to contact application vendor (NextGen) when problems arise in EMR. 15. Maintain a resourceful relationship with other EMR Clients. 16. Maintain internal system security and follow HIPAA security compliance. 17. Help write procedure manuals and documentation for training. 18. Perform special tasks as assigned. 19. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
