About The Position

Solicit, document, and analyze business needs and requirements within assigned area and recommend technology solutions to improve business operations and processes. Work with internal and external resources to guide new technology designs and modifications related to assigned area. Implement solutions that streamline the business process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field, such as Insurance, Risk Management, construction, finance, accounting, marketing, computer science, operations, management, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of database design.
  • Strong Spreadsheet skills and advanced knowledge of pivot tables.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of relevant business processes and the supporting IS systems.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of IS project management principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with business leaders, IS internal resources and external resources to identify, define and implement IT solutions for business issues.
  • Ability to facilitate effective business meetings, including virtual interactions.
  • Strong research and investigation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand and adopt Lean principles.

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of insurance including Claims and Underwriting concepts including the concepts of loss development.
  • Understands the basics of lines of insurance including Casualty, Property, Surety, and SDI.
  • Proactive, detail oriented, takes initiative to drive to problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison between the business and the IS RM team for project initiation.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and partner with other business analysts to ensure a holistic perspective of issues and potential changes, and to analyze and coordinate cross functional activities.
  • Look at business issues, identify root causes, and come up with solutions that leverage capabilities between existing systems. The Implemented solutions should be flexible and can adapt as business needs evolve.
