About The Position

We are looking for a proactive, engaging, and technically adept IT Administrator to join our Finance & Administration team here at Common Cause. This is a crucial role supporting all teams across our organization to become more efficient and effective as we bring greater centralization to our IT operation. In this role, you will provide IT support and security for our entire organization through managing a secure IT infrastructure; leading engaging technical trainings; and ensuring all staff have hardware, software and technical resources and knowledge they need to do their work effectively and safely. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a desire to teach others to be more effective with their tools, and an interest in protecting our democracy. This is a full-time role reporting to the Director, IT; this role is based in Washington, DC, with an expectation to come into our office at least two days per week. We hope our new IT Administrator will join us in April.

Requirements

  • Have provided technical IT support to staff
  • Have led technical trainings for staff members with wide range of technical fluency
  • Fluency with Microsoft 365, including experience functioning in Admin Console
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT security best practices
  • Familiarity with both PC and Mac operating systems, and ideally experience managing hardware inventory
  • Ability to travel 1-2 times per year for team and/or all staff retreats
  • Ability to work in-person in our Washington, DC office at least two days per week
  • Per our nonpartisan policy, Common Cause staff members may not currently be in elected office (or running for office); on the Steering Committee or Finance Committee for any political candidate; or affiliated with the leadership of a political party

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support and training for staff
  • Manage our Microsoft platform and other software subscriptions
  • Manage Common Cause’s technology hardware inventory
  • Collaborate on the development of IT Strategy
  • Other duties as assigned
