About The Position

We are seeking a forward-thinking IT Automation Engineer (Contractor) to design, implement, and manage intelligent workflows that streamline operations across our enterprise systems. This role is ideal for a creative problem-solver who is passionate about leveraging automation to eliminate manual work, improve system integration, and enhance business efficiency-especially within an Agile IT organization.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT automation, systems engineering, or DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Workato, Zapier, or Power Automate.
  • Strong understanding of Jira administration, workflow customization, and automation within Agile environments.
  • Solid understanding of API development and integration (REST, JSON, webhooks).
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as JavaScript, JSON, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Experience automating tasks across cloud services (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with Agile principles, Scrum, and collaboration in cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical automation solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an enterprise environment with high-volume automation workloads.
  • Exposure to ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
  • Understanding of data transformation and workflow optimization.
  • Certification in automation or cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, or UiPath) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain workflow automations using industry-standard tools.
  • Collaborate with IT, Operations, and Business teams to identify automation opportunities and translate process requirements into technical solutions.
  • Integrate and automate processes within Atlassian Jira/Confluence to support Agile project management, sprint tracking, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and connectors between internal systems such as HR, finance, and cloud platforms.
  • Build and manage automation pipelines that improve collaboration and visibility across Agile teams.
  • Create documentation, monitoring, and dashboards for automated processes to ensure reliability and transparency.
  • Implement error-handling and alerting mechanisms for automations to ensure business continuity.
  • Support system integrations across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Continuously research emerging automation tools and best practices to evolve the automation strategy.
