The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide. The position will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of global systems for the cable manufacturing environment. In this capacity, the person will work closely with engineering, operations, and business leaders in the cable plants to deliver manufacturing information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of combined experience in data analytics, business intelligence development, and/or data engineering.
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio - Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Experience in Power BI report design and deployment.
  • Full Life Cycle Experience in Model, Design, Development of Data warehouse/ETL/BI Solutions.
  • Strong Back End development skills and knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or others).
  • Project planning, requirements gathering and analysis, test plan development.
  • Experience with modern programming languages (Python, C#, VB.NET).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with customer-facing solution development with the Microsoft .Net framework.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Executive Systems (MES).
  • Design experience creating basic web front ends that are easy for end users.
  • Leveraging data to power AI/ML solutions in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Exposure to Databricks for data engineering, analytics, and AI workflows.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as both a manufacturing reporting analyst and as a manufacturing intelligence (MI) developer.
  • Will become the local expert for plant-related data and reporting systems.
  • Maintains close relationships with business personnel to understand changing business requirements and drive adoption to standard reporting practices.
  • Provides table, view, stored procedure design as needed for both SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Creates and publishes Power BI reports. Helps maintain permissions to premium workspaces. Facilitates the transfer of high-level reporting systems to a Power BI platform.
  • Web development for in-house applications.
  • Willing to be on off-hours call on a rotational basis.
