About The Position

The Business Systems Analyst II is responsible for developing, analyzing, refining and documenting customer business requirements, with respect to implementation and production support of Henderson Engineers corporate applications systems. This includes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), HR, Financial, CRM, and IT Service Management applications. Designs and Implements solutions to business needs by utilizing the delivered functionality first before considering custom changes. Creates functional and technical design specifications for Corporate Applications, data management, and reporting systems. Collaborates with business stakeholders, vendor(s), other IT staff, and other related personnel to design technical solutions. Serves as technical expert on all customer business requirements and information needs. May lead functional project teams on small-to-medium scale implementations or initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ERP Analyst, or in a similar functional-technical role required with a bachelor’s degree in a related field,, or 7+ years of experience without a related degree.
  • Experience configuring, supporting, and optimizing ERP, Financial, and HR platforms (e.g., Deltek/VantagePoint, SAP, Oracle, or Workday) in a medium to large company (1000+ employee) environment.
  • Proven experience in gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • History of working with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business users.
  • Proficient in corporate applications system configuration and troubleshooting
  • Strong analytical skills for process evaluation and system improvement
  • Experience with business process modeling tools (e.g., Miro, Visio, Lucidchart)
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data query tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, or Tableau).
  • Familiarity with data migration, system integration, and API-based workflows
  • Strong documentation skills for functional specs, test cases, and user training materials
  • Ability to develop test plans and execute user acceptance, performance, and regression testing
  • Analytical and reporting skills with experience identifying trends and proposing improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, including facilitating stakeholder meetings.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

  • Experience configuring or supporting ERP modules related to AEC project management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate complex and routine business requirements to define project scope, objectives, and feasibility.
  • Translate business requirements into system configurations, focusing on delivered functionality before considering customization.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT staff, vendors, and user groups to design solutions that meet operational needs.
  • Manage critical business systems in alignment with evolving business requirements; lead small-to-mid-scale implementations, integrations, and automation projects.
  • Lead activities related to data migration, system setup, and business process optimization.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors to manage product usage, troubleshoot bugs, and deploy new features.
  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans, including user acceptance, performance, security, and usability testing.
  • Implement system changes and ensure functionality aligns with documented business requirements and use cases.
  • Guide other process owners and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve cross-process issues.
  • Facilitate recurring meetings and working groups to ensure alignment and collaboration across IT and business functions.
  • Work closely with internal IT teams, external vendors, and business units to implement and test solutions, integrations, and reporting tools.
  • Facilitate requirements walkthroughs, sprint planning, UAT sessions, and production readiness checks.
  • Lead incident and problem resolution for application issues, troubleshooting system errors and recommending permanent solutions.
  • Analyze and monitor system performance and usability, supporting continuous improvement through upgrades, patches, and user feedback loops.
  • Provide advanced functional support and customer service to end-users, including troubleshooting and temporary workarounds.
  • Conduct end-user training sessions, system demonstrations, and create user-friendly documentation and knowledge base articles.
