Job Summary The desktop support intern will provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues, and ensuring IT incidents are resolved in a timely manner. Responsibilities include responding to user requests, troubleshooting, assisting with installations and maintenance, documenting support requests, and collaborating with staff across the IS department..

Requirements

  • Ideal candidates should be pursuing a degree in IT or a related field
  • Possess basic knowledge of computer systems, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office/365 services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exposure and experience in the desktop support/engineering roles and the systems used on a daily basis (SCCM, Intune, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Admin Center)
  • Windows 10 to 11 migration, ATM refreshes, A/V upgrades, workstation refreshes
  • Respond to support requests via email, phone, ticketing system, and walk-up interactions
  • Assist with workstation refreshes and hardware deployments
  • Support miscellaneous projects
  • Contribute IT support for company events
  • Utilize and gain hands-on experience with ITSM ticketing systems to track and manage incidents and requests
  • Work with IT tools such as SCCM, Intune, and Active Directory
  • Monitor and support basic helpdesk metrics, including ticket and call tracking
  • Collaborate with the desktop support team to troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate technical issues as needed
