About The Position

The IT Disaster Recovery Program Manager is accountable for designing, governing, and driving the execution of enterprise disaster recovery (DR) capabilities to ensure the resilience, recoverability, and regulatory compliance of critical technology services. This role owns the IT disaster recovery framework and works across technology and business leadership to ensure recovery objectives are defined, tested, achievable, and transparent to executive leadership. This role is accountable for the integrity of disaster recovery documentation, the effectiveness of DR testing and governance processes, and the visibility and escalation of material recovery risks that could impact business operations. This position partners closely with Infrastructure, Application, Cybersecurity, Business Continuity, Compliance, and Risk Management teams to identify recoverability gaps and drive remediation efforts that reduce operational risk and support business continuity objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT disaster recovery, business continuity, infrastructure operations, or enterprise technology risk management.
  • Strong understanding of on-premises and cloud infrastructure, backup and replication technologies, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving remediation outcomes in complex environments.
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory requirements related to disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical risk into business impact.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position.
  • In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience.
  • Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs.
  • Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
  • Regular in-office attendance required.

Responsibilities

  • Own and govern the enterprise IT disaster recovery framework, ensuring alignment with Business Continuity Planning (BCP), FFIEC, GLBA, and internal risk standards.
  • Establish and maintain disaster recovery standards, recovery tiers, and minimum RTO/RPO requirements across infrastructure and application portfolios.
  • Lead the enterprise DR testing program, including technical failover tests, tabletop exercises, and recovery simulations; document outcomes and track remediation actions to closure.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Application, Cybersecurity, and Business Continuity teams to perform recoverability assessments, business impact analyses (BIAs), and risk evaluations.
  • Drive prioritization and execution of DR remediation initiatives to address identified gaps and improve recovery readiness.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on disaster recovery posture, test results, material risks, and unresolved deficiencies.
  • Serve as the technology disaster recovery coordinator during actual incidents, supporting recovery execution, escalation, and leadership communications.
  • Maintain disaster recovery documentation, runbooks, contact lists, and escalation procedures.
  • Act as the primary IT disaster recovery subject matter expert for audits, regulatory examinations, and business continuity governance forums.
