About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors, INC. is seeking an IT End User Specialist II to work out of our Columbia, SC office. This is an in office position. This role is part of an IT team and will have direct responsibility for the IT needs of 3 branch offices and several job sites. The base office is located in Columbia, SC but travel to our Society Hill, SC office will be frequent. Travel to our Atlanta, GA office will be required some as well. The IT End User Specialist II is part of an IT team that supports three EMCOR companies located in the southeast. This position is based in South Carolina and will have direct responsibility for the IT needs of the offices and job sites located in that state. The IT End User Specialist II provides professional support for end users of personal computers and their associated networks, hardware, software, and peripherals. This role provides advanced technical support and troubleshooting for end-user devices, applications, and services. It ensures that employees have reliable access to technology resources and resolves complex issues that go beyond tier I support.

Requirements

  • Experience with troubleshooting problems, resolving, or escalating issues, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Self-starter. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to company offices and job sites.
  • Customer-focused with a positive, helpful attitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical support or helpdesk role.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and common desktop applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with end user onboarding and offboarding tasks, including account setup and equipment provisioning. Provision computers and mobile devices as needed.
  • Install and configure software and hardware updates.
  • Ensure that systems and workstations are compliant with organizational policies and security standards.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets, phone calls, and emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, software applications, hardware, printing, and networking. Escalate unresolved issues to teammates as needed.
  • Evaluate and resolve network connectivity and communications issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to office network configurations.
  • Assist in job site deployments, including network installation, structured cabling, and workstation setups.
  • Document solutions and contribute to the knowledge base to improve team efficiency.
  • Manage IT assets and supplies.
  • Actively participate in weekly IT meetings to discuss ongoing issues, upcoming priorities, and current project work.
