About The Position

Whim Hospitality, Dripping Springs, TX, is seeking an IT Field Service Technician to monitor and maintain all information systems and infrastructure for our properties. This includes, but is not limited to, Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, network/firewall security, Windows Desktop systems, and the full Microsoft Office 365 technology stack. This on-site role serves as the go-to person for all IT-related matters, ensuring a seamless technology experience across all operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Network Infrastructure and the Microsoft Full Technology Stack.
  • Strong technical experience with Network, Security, Windows Desktop, and Office365 Azure support, including SharePoint and Entrada.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environmental conditions.
  • Proficient in installing network cabling as well as diagnosing and terminating connections.
  • Proficient with Office365 Desktop apps, with a willingness to train staff in these applications.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient in Maestro PMS and Silverware POS to support property systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) with Microsoft Authenticator and endpoint security solutions.
  • Knowledge of Unify networking, wireless network bridges, and access points.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair networking issues that affect both staff and guests.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network architecture, cybersecurity, and cloud computing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in managing sensitive company information and IT systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain all IT infrastructure across properties, including networks, servers, and end-user computing.
  • Work collaboratively with the IT Director to develop and implement IT strategies that align with operational needs and objectives.
  • Provide technical support for lodging, banquets, food and beverage services, email systems, website issues, and internet connectivity.
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of all IT systems necessary for effective operational support.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing IT security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems.
  • Address cybersecurity issues, including phishing and malware attacks, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Given the nature of the 24/7 hospitality industry, weekends tend to be the busiest periods; therefore, the IT Field Service Technician must provide sufficient coverage during these times.
  • The technician may be asked to assist in other operational areas as directed by senior management.
