About The Position

At SanMar, the work you do makes a difference. What's the Short Version? The AI Intern is responsible for supporting the Architecture and business teams during an 8-12 week program by helping to identify, document, and support the delivery of AI use cases and workloads leveraging Azure toolsets. The AI Intern will report to the Director, Architecture. What Will You Be Doing? Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to understand processes, pain points, and goals related to potential AI solutions. Assist in identifying and documenting AI use cases, including problem statements, desired outcomes, and measures of success. Aid in developing material to help teams and individuals confidently explore and make effective use of Copilot prompts and agent technologies. Support the Architecture team in designing and prototyping AI solutions using Azure toolsets, following established patterns and standards. Help prepare and organize data, perform basic data validation, and support testing activities for AI workloads. Assist with documenting solution concepts, user guides, and simple support or run materials for AI solutions. Job shadow Architecture and business team members and assist them as needed. Participate in intern cohort activities including professional development workshops, warehouse tours, and meetings with leadership. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, ideally in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong desire to continue learning and using AI, Azure, and applied use cases with a professional drive to experiment and iterate.
  • Basic familiarity with at least one of the following (coursework or personal projects are acceptable): o Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar). o Cloud concepts (e.g., Microsoft Azure). o Data concepts (databases, APIs, or analytics tools).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytic, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to take direction, absorb information quickly, and ask good questions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and challenges in a fast‑changing AI landscape

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, coursework, or personal projects involving AI, cloud, or software development are a plus

Benefits

  • Pay: You`ll earn $25.00 on an hourly basis.
  • Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked.
