Xylem is seeking IT Infrastructure Intern candidates with an Information Technology background to join our Infrastructure team for a Summer Internship. This role offers hands-on exposure to supporting and implementing IT solutions that meet business needs. Interns will gain experience spanning hardware, software, troubleshooting, documentation, and infrastructure support. Xylem Summer Internships typically last 10–12 weeks and provide an opportunity to gain professional experience while making meaningful contributions to Xylem. Our program is designed to build a pipeline of talented undergraduates interested in careers in water technology and innovation. Interns are a primary feeder pool for full-time early‑career roles and rotational programs across Xylem. The hourly rate for interns varies based on major, year in school, and location, with an average range between $25.00 to $27.00 per hour. As an IT Infrastructure Intern at Xylem, you will support local and regional technology needs, assist with device lifecycle processes, collaborate with technical teams, and contribute to documentation and process improvements. You’ll gain exposure to frontline technical support, enterprise IT systems, and real‑world infrastructure operations. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 4‑year degree program in Information Systems, Information Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Must be entering at least junior standing as of Fall 2026.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot common IT issues and apply practical solutions.
  • Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with IT staff and other internal stakeholders.
  • Learning Attitude: Eagerness to learn and stay updated on IT trends and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow local Service Delivery Technician and assist as needed.
  • Receive, unbox, and inventory all IT equipment arriving onsite.
  • Install and update OS images on new or break/fix devices.
  • Prepare equipment for the e‑waste vendor.
  • Participate in and manage inventory for the Zoom Phone project (phones and headsets).
  • Create and update infrastructure documentation.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or reassign ServiceNow tickets.
  • Prepare equipment for shipments as needed.
  • Attend relevant meetings such as project calls, team meetings, and troubleshooting sessions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and document updated procedures.
